| another hour yet before i open up the dark ybs,been up since 6 oclock ill have nodded off before its time to open at 9.................. |

| 8am i take mine off dark, late today had extra cup of tea at loft longer today |

| thats ok mark, nothing wrong with that........each fancier must do it to suit their own hours, as long as they get the 8 hours needed its ok. |

| hi geordiejen, people who use the darkness system do it to force the ybs to moult so they can race the full program without falling to bits moulting........by opening the loft up at 9 am and darkening it down at 5 pm it is simulating the hours of winter which makes the ybs prematurely moult, when it comes to yb racing the dark ybs are like yearlings therefor giving them an advantage over natural ybs........ |

steve, this is my first time trying the darkness system like you.......but altho all my ybs went on it when the clocks altered ive found the older birds are further on in the moult than the younger birds, as i said they all went onto it at the same time |
