Selling the N.H.S. Empty
PostSubject: Selling the N.H.S.   Selling the N.H.S. EmptyThu Oct 31, 2019 12:00 pm

Another thought
I see now that as an agreement, for free trading with the U.S.A., we are to sale the rest of the N.H.S. off to them! This is in line with that Thatcher and G. Howe. Following on from that man who wrote how to cripple and dismantle the N.H.S... Jeremy Hunt, so they gave him the job! Well no surprise there then eh!
Why?
In who's interests!
The N.H.S has already started charging for some operations. The American's have bought into it. Richard Branston has invested a £billion or two!
In who's interest/ Well not for the ordinary people, and that's a fact!
For insurance corporates to make a killing! For Money to make more and more MONEY! … Not for the good of decent, hardworking people, that's for sure.
Most countries, not least the U.S.A. have illnesses rampant, disabled people and heart attacks not interested in etc. etc. Unless they have paid through the nose for POOR insurance, which can only be used or had ONCE!
The people were crying out for a little help, like the Barack Barma Medical. Just a little help. The first thing Trump did was take that of the board.
I could go on and on, and fill pages.

Selling the N.H.S. Empty
PostSubject: Re: Selling the N.H.S.   Selling the N.H.S. EmptyThu Oct 31, 2019 12:41 pm

One can complain about the NHS.

The thing is millions and millions of people have been more than pleased that we have one that is free for all.

The problem is that there is too much abuse of the freedom and it is used in many cases for vanity issues rather than for illness.

Along with self inflicted illnesses and free treatment for those coming from abroad and abusing our kindness, more money is spent unwisely.

If it was used purely for illnesses there would be more empty beds than full ones.

If I had not had a new hip, I would not be able to walk, without eye treatment not see, along with other necessary treatment for other problems.

You can say the same millions of times over since the NHS was instigated.

It is not that there is anything wrong with the NHS other than it is being abused.

Selling the N.H.S. Empty
PostSubject: Re: Selling the N.H.S.   Selling the N.H.S. EmptyThu Oct 31, 2019 5:15 pm

I remember well when My brother - a trade unionist in charge - took a British steelworks to the task.
Nigh every one was pleased, and many surprised.
A little later, at home, I challenged him in regards to those shirkers, and no goods who still got a good pay off.

His answer was simple. 'So you are saying that the good and flavourful, those who worked hard and served faithfully for many, many years only deserved what the scroungers should'!
Of course not!
He then said 'How can one separate the deserving from the not so? So to give those with long service and hard worker the justice that they deserved, I have to let a few undesirables also have a some'!
I, nor one could argue that. Yes, some slip through the net granted, but he gave justice to those deserving.
Likewise, the N.H.S. the envy of the world and it's abused.
I, like millions of others, paid my stamp faithfully. Is it then the case that I, Misty etc. and millions more, should be punished and not get what I worked and paid for'! I think not. So I'd agree that some measures are needed to sort it out … But as long as the Top notch get the lion share, they won't give a toss!

Selling the N.H.S. Empty
PostSubject: Re: Selling the N.H.S.   Selling the N.H.S. EmptyThu Oct 31, 2019 6:36 pm

In Australia the Cost Of Hip Replacement Surgery. Average costs for a hip replacement surgery can range anywhere from $22,000 to $25,000 with up to around $800 and above incurred as out of pocket costs. There are also further recurrent associated costs that are incurred after the surgery in the form of radiographic check-ups.

In the U.S. A the average Cost of Hip Replacement. The cost of a hip replacement varies across the country and from hospital to hospital. For patients without health insurance, a hip replacement will cost between $31,839 and $44,816, with an average cost of $39,299. However, there are medical institutions which offer discounts for uninsured patients.
But both may well cost more with add ons and after care.

How much does hernia repair surgery cost?
The average cost of hernia repair surgery in the United States is $7,750, though prices can range from $3,900 to $12,500. The average cost for an inpatient hernia repair is $11,500, while the average cost for an outpatient procedure is $6,400.
One factor that can greatly affect the cost of hernia repair surgery is whether you have the procedure performed in an inpatient facility, like a hospital, or an outpatient surgery center.

Hear in the U.K in 2016 ernia repair is a standout amongst the most widely recognized operations performed in this nation. Every year, more than 700,000 people in the United States experience hernia surgery, and the hernia institutions have played out a few thousand of these hernia operations for patients from over the district. The average cost of hernia surgery went between $4,200 and $6,200. For insured patients, expect to pay the coinsurance rates for around 17.9 percent of the last bill and deductibles for an average expense of $939. This implies that an average patient ought to pay $750 and $1,109 for their hernia repair price. Indeed, even if you are insured, you may wind up spending a great deal for your hernia surgery. So before concluding your choice, make sure that to know the factors that will influence the average cost of hernia surgery such as the type of surgery, charge for the working room, charge for the anesthesiology, the charge for the specialist, the deduction rate of your medical coverage, and other medical needs like the prescription of pain medication.

Here in Britain: https://www.privatehealth.co.uk/conditions-and-treatments/hip-replacement-total/costs/
Remember we, here, already only do certain operations with you paying the cost!

AND it will soon be here private and costs will spiral.

Daz, when you visit the A&E department at any hour you find druggies, drunks, knife crime victims (brought on by their own actions) etc; all totally self inflicted along with people with unavoidable health problems.

The former causing all kinds of trouble for the staff, many times having to call the police.

Are you saying the NHS was devised to deal with self inflicted problems or for genuine illness?

Of course ANYONE in need of medical attention should be attended to, that is not the point, the point is without these louts and foreigners, there would not be problem.

Selling the N.H.S. Empty
PostSubject: Re: Selling the N.H.S.   Selling the N.H.S. EmptyThu Oct 31, 2019 7:07 pm

The cost of private treatment has always been way beyond the ordinary workers finances, the private sector {whose operations often undertaken by NHS surgeons) is an option for those who do not want to wait and want it carried out in more comfortable circumstances, which is their choice {no one forces them}.

There are several private organisations like BUPA that some firms pay for their staffs membership also in an endeavour to avoid waiting.

Everyone has a choice, the fact is that it is impossible to have either a doctor or surgeon waiting for a customer to pop in.

I feel we should be very grateful and do less moaning, those that pay privately do the NHS a service by allowing some less fortunate have their treatment sooner.

For me Daz Smile Smile & I know we are all different, but it's always been a peace of mind thing etc having private health insurance for my family as such down here & I would place it along side house insurance as a must have type of scenario or even also our cars to a much lesser extent. Few I suggest here Wink Wink would pay what you quoted for a normal hip type replacement as an example I suspect & my wife the other year here had her hip done & thankfully it was a huge & total success all round for her & at the end of the day we were around $2,500 out of pocket by the end & not one penny of it Very Happy Very Happy did I regret paying in the end for my wife's happiness factor. cheers

True Knackered. However we pay a token each week we worked for n50 years, or more and then it is - sorry was - free.
Now, having paid those 50 years, it will count for nothing as we will have to pay all over again.

Cannot understand the problem with regard to the standing of the NHS.

Without taking into account, WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN, at the present time the only ones who use the NHS who have to pay for the treatment they receive are those credited with the ability to pay for prescription drugs.

Before the NHS my mother paid a weekly amount to the doctor for any treatment that may arise within the family, believe a shilling for my mam and dad and a penny each for 6 children, all received any medical treatment with no further costs.

It may be prudent to take a look around the world and see the suffering taking place involving thousands of children etc;

There will always be advantage takers in all walks of life but I for one have been more than happy with the NHS, even when having to wait, be very nice to have a doctor etc; just waiting for you to pop in, but this is the real world.

Regards.

I remember, only too well, my mother hesitant going to the doctors, for us kids etc. Couldn't get to grips that it she wouldn't have to pay … Indeed, like dad, would consult the chemist first off hand. D
Mum used to quip, 'Make the most of it, it won't be long before we have to pay again'!

Was unbelievable that it actually took two 'Black mails and a threat'. One to the U.S.A. and the British Medical profession to eventually, and actually get it done.

You know Knackered, beings now very many of us have never had to pay, not even seeing the doctor or Dentist - Dentist now charge after school age till retiring - they take it in their stride and as 'O.K' etc.
Soon, very soon, after the Tories run down the N.H.S. and we have even longer queues to see a doctor, dentist and waiting for an operation... the gist the Tories will be 'Private will be better etc. - Like how they gave away out Council houses and gave the money to the rich and Affluent and mates called the Housing Association'. Gave then away the nation owned - Railways away and charged us more straight of, and increased need of Tax payers money, like wise Gas, Electric etc. etc. - P.s I am still waiting for my cheques so many will swallow the crap spouted!
Nothing the srile from us was better! Nigh all worse and a darn site dearer.
the gullible spout 'Make it private, can't be no worse' etc will soon whinge when having to pay £10 - £15 to see a doctor' going up very quickly to £25 - £30 to see a doc!. We already have been hiked to £9 prescription which was originally free!
Then they will say 'It has been a very good thing, Doctor's waiting time and queues has been shorten! Hospitals queues are also less and waiting time has been shorten'!
Not surprised there then, BECAUSE we can't afford to go!
