| Monday and Tuesday dry weatherwise. Railway strike ended. Silos, mills were all full. Could not move grain. Or gas etc,. Ships tied up in harbours waiting to be loaded. Two Combines went at the soy. Over 1000 acres off now. Corn is next. But winds of 80 kph and rain shut everything down again Harvest wise. Power lines down and trees. But calmer today. Above freezing. All getting back to normal. Global warming? Who knows 40 years ago new ice age was predicted as coming. |

| You must spend a lot on drying the grain Hal.
Seems strange harvesting in the conditions you describe.
As for global warming etc; there has been cycles of differing weather conditions since time began.
The lunatics here are attempting to introduce all kinds of means of avoiding climate change, which will cost both money and hardship for many in our country, which will not make one iota of difference when the likes of China are increasing the matters our lot want to ban.
World gone mad does not begin to do justice to the present situations around the world.
Regards.

Yes Mistyy. 5am yesterday they started on the corn. 3 combines this time. They quit at 11pm brcause of freezing rain. High winds also today abd freezing rain also. Wind chill factor minus 25C. It will turn to snow later today. 9 am right now. I was fortunate enough to get heavy plastic stapled to the outside windows of the house. Friday did that. Wife is making steak and kidney pie and Cornish paties right now. Keeps the kitchen warm as the wind is coming off the lake. Heaters can barely keep up. However, not complaining. Glad I can still climb ladders etc,! |
