| I see the draft lads are at it again. Just seen 2020 ybs are being bred now and weaned unbelievable... I still say they are late breds myself despite having 2020 rings on. Born in 2019. Again I cannot see the point of it anyway. You are only creating more work for yourself plus are these early bred ybs any good. I know some like to get it out of the way and some have small teams and need to get a few rounds yes but it still baffles me to be honest . One time you couldn't get rings till Jan the 1st but now early December. Unreal |

| To be correct regarding the year bred, the rings should not be issued before around January 10th.
Pigeons would have had to hatch in December for them to be rung on January 1st.
Can see early bred pigeons causing several problems but it has been going on a long time.
Takes time for the penny to drop for some.
Regards. |

| I have bred excellent young in January. Plus the ratio of dummies. Advantages are the bird is more mature and the moult not a problem. June 21st is the longest day of the year. Use a timer and keep the lights on for that length afterwards until racing is finished. No moult. Lights off when racing is over and moult is rapid. May not even race this year so the ones sitting now I am tempted to put dummy eggs under them. Let them sit until they leave the eggs then dump all. Mated pairs will stay together. All should be in sync. |
