| Yes back home now from a great weekend at Blackpool Believe it or not only bought 2 king birds that I ordered months ago but not one racer, mind you I did fancy a lambreck red pied cock for 200 quid but never bothered due to no room. Met up again with the great don Webb as usual and had a good chat as always . Poor Jayne my wife came along after the sad loss of her father on Friday morning so that put a damper on it but she coped very well. Hope those on here that went also enjoyed it |

| Same here, about an hour ago, worn out! I think I saw the red lambrecht cock you mention. Was he on a stall being looked after by a lady? Few other reds on there too? Sorry about your wife's loss, you're right she done remarkably well to get through the weekend. Slightly smaller show this time but I think the birds on sale were generally a better quality than last year. |

| Thank you. Yes red pied cock, nice bird but its brother was a 100 less because plain red. People love a bunny bird , maybe not to win but just to look at. It had a decent pedigree but haven't most lol |

| Glad you had a good time and kept your money in your pocket.
Thought £200 a bit expensive for a untried pigeon.
Then thought I would look at what I paid for some in the early 70s.
From £50.00 to £100.00
The equivalent of £50.00 then compared to today £540.77. obviously £100.00 over £1,000.
Puts matters into perspective me thinks.
Regards. |

| Only paid those amounts for brothers of proven pigeons, Knackered, over a couple of years.
Got brothers from some top class pigeons.
Never been rich, but never poor, just average.
Only time had a problem was when my first wife died and had to find the unexpected costs involved as well as the cost of my daughters wedding making sure my wife could see our daughter get married.
From having my first pigeons given by a friend of my father I never paid for a pigeon until starting again after leaving the army.
Regards..

| Great and lovely to see Hal. As normal, which I often state. Your birds ALWAYS look a picture of health and conditioned. Admitted they enjoy a far better oxygen in Canada than we do here of course. They gives me a desire to start up again, to ensue a never to be, and forlorn urge lol. |

| Know the feeling Daz regards wanting to start again and then reality sets in.
I often have a look at the Massarella pigeons on offer some 5 and six years olds all at reasonable prices and looking the part with good pedigrees, could set up after singing in the pub a few times.
Wonder if they have been used as feeders though?.
But, as no doubt you could, have a loft full of good pigeons from friends.
One can dream.
Regards. |

| Yes Misty. I have a new neighbour just move in. - The ones leaving were great neighbours. He has 2/3 dogs, parrots etc. and is erecting a Dove Cot! That is already built and ready to be put up. Seemed reasonable fellow when I spoke to hin when moving in … maybe he would like to start up!? Will definitely drop a few hints lol |
