How do you use

how do you use Honey for when a pigeon comes back from a hard race ? do you mix in to the water of put on to food ?

put mine in warm water first to dissolve then add to drinker...

hi rene, ive never used it but have heard you put it into warm water to disolve it..........i have used something called honeygar which is 50% honey and 50% cider vinegar which i bought from holland and barret health shop, after racing in the past i have used electrolytes for when they get home or have heard of some fanciers using glucose in the water.......this year i am using mollassis which is a byproduct of sugar which im let to beleive is energy, the original aviform had cane mollassis in it but they changed it so it doesnt have it in it now.........

which sort of honey is it as there are loads of different ones we dont have holland and barrets health shop over here

sorry rene, dont you have any health shops there.......? just use ordinary honey you buy from the shop for humans, do you get cider vinegar there rene.....?

Rene put 2 tablespoons of clear honey in your fountain add warm water which helps dessolve the honey, but i always put a squeeze of lemon juice with the honey

Once the honey and lemon has dessolved just fill the fountain up with tap water

Rene always used this for there first drink on there return home from the race, hope this has helped mate

we do have heath shops mate and yes we can get cider vinegar i use the vinegar 0nce a week in the water on a wen 15m to 3lit of water

yes i give the same rene, 5ml per litre which works out the same as you......i give them it twice a week tho on a monday and tuesday, vitamins wednesday and mollassis thursday......clean water friday,sat and sun because when it comes to racing season for the ybs friday will still be clean/fresh water but sat will be electrolytes and sunday tea.

how many sugar do they take in T i dont take none what is mollassis never heard of that

hi rene, its a thick sugary syrup which is from sugar cane.....which is a source of energy, i get it for 75p per litre but when it was in the original aviform it was quite expensive, they give it to horses too rene.....

can you get that from a normal shop then mate ?

the only place where i know who sells it is here at crowthers pigeon/animal feed supplies........i would think horse feed supplies would sell it too rene if you know of any.

Since reading on here that fanciers use cider vinegar, I have started using it nearly everyday...and The youngsters droppings are looking a bit better than usuall. Dont get me wrong my droppings are excellent but as an average because you always get some looser droppings in the day depending on weather and such. They are on average better so I conclude this really does do something positive for them...

i give them it twice a week martyn, some give it three times but i suppose each have their own methods dont they.......since ive used it i do think my ybs look and feel better than other years.
