No, of course not. A. They has to go in some time.
B. brill. Put them in separate sides. Then after a week let them see a mate... Rotate the nest box. Allow the first out in and remove the mate to let out. Box one in and let mate out, so one always see it's mate --- or the one you have chose. Then let out separately. It will muddle and fuddle them coming. to land and then to actually stay on loft/ traps. No hurry, no rush needed, All in their own good time.. Plus going in through the traps. Last week in March let them pair up proper. You will have two sets of youngster BOTH capable of flying the programme. If first 4 races are two come back races, split the youngsters.
If you want only one round, pot eggs or such.

Never too late to breed , depends what you want to do with the young.

You will have had enough experience regarding pairing up so can see no real problems.

David, remember when a very youngster myself a Mr Hall racing two strawberry Smiths Grizzles that had down on them, they flew the whole programme.

Plenty of time, many fanciers used to pair up mid or later February years ago.

As often Bragged, two born June flew 479 miles from Thurso.
Indeed was a - sensible - time when Later March Early April was the time to pair up. Before Climate change granted. Was warmer mostly. But they flew the WHOLE race program. Now we foolishly molly - coddle them to their detriment I fear.

Oh so true Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Molly coddle etc Smile Smile That bad here at times now Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad they will change the race point to get a wind up their backside, instead of staying put & having a header type race. That welfare of the pigeon thing Wink Wink I'm told. Year I got married after getting back from my honey moon experience bounce bounce I threw 2 tin sheets up against the side fence for a roof & bred a round of late bred types well after xmas as such at the house we were renting. 18 pigeons I had for the season & one little late bred hen flew close to 3,500 miles in races including flying 600 odd miles to finish the season off. So  Very Happy  Very Happy today for me  lol!  lol!  lol! I'm  affraid I must to be truthful  Smile  Smile & say, many lofts from my experience (in a local sense) have pussy type pigeons in them sadly now  Very Happy  Very Happy on average.  cheers

Well not blowing my own trumpet so to speak but we had a fantastic season last season and we don't pair up early . I don't believe these early ybs are any better. Just my opinion. A lot of pigeon men just copy each other Haha. Half of them don't even know why they pair early. A few do as answered that question on here in on another topic

I totally agree … as have said constantly what seems like for ever lol.
Know a few 'Name' fanciers who- supposedly - breed early. But then that is for selling! Now as to what is breeding, and further when the racers are bred from, may well be, and often is the case - two different things. J.M.O.

I bred early this year so guy could pick up his birds. Then breed for myself. Some early ones do good. More mature. Some it makes no difference. Depends as always on the bird.

Would think there is enough evidence many times over that it does not matter when a good pigeon is bred, good bad and indifferent are bred at nearly all times.

Some not taking part in young bird racing.

But others almost late bred doing so and winning.

Although only breeding a few, with completely open loft all year round and very few stock birds I had young ones early late and in between and overall there was very little difference in quality.

Very good, average and not too good, in reverse order.

Too many theories not backed up by evidence, main trouble in our sport.

One mans meat etc;

Regards.
