| Hi Friends, we see pin holes on feathers , as per my understanding, these pins holes are either due to bad molt or tough race. they usually appear on white feathers. few days back in a discussion with a colleague , they posed like pin holes are something really great, it seems they reflect some great condition or training but didn't explain to me his theory What are your thoughts on pin hole feathers? Thanks |

| The main cause of pin holes are parasites.
Never heard any one suggest they are indicative of anything desirable.
Easily dealt with by the right treatment.

| There was a theory at one time regarding crinkles in feathering being indicative of form but all such theories are bunkum.

| Sprinkle with Diatamaceous Earth. Use it on my dogs as needed. Worms, ticks fleas etc,. Knocks them all out. |

| Always known it to be Parasites. No two ways about that. Many rumours emerge often when folks hope for the best, and move from the fact, in hope and worry. Get them treated. Won't go, and will infect every bird soon Treat them all ASAP. Simple. |

| Yes , to me as well, this may not be symptom of great training .But can reflect bad health in early age or molt or stress during race. I have observed pin holes on feathers for birds struggle hard in hard race |

| They live in the feather/ taken NOURISHMENT. Than attack the younger and more succulent feather of the squabs and take the goodness, and harm their feathering.. A vicious and uncalled happening that takes hold and can be never ending without treatment. Obviously damages and gives bad race results. Then excuses and blame are spouted... When one should look in the mirror. Also, pin holes can attract and house other nasties. J.M.O. |
