| do we take note of. Or spout the same?!
What're your' thoughts regards foolish and silly thing said, often said in pigeon racing?
When I sent just one or two, twice three only, old experienced birds to the first race(s). Or when with east in the wind forecasted early season, the foolhardy comments abounded with titters behind the hand comments. Often with a twinkle in their' eye, on Friday night basketing!
'Weer, you should be giving the yearlings a chance to prove themselves'. Or 'The youngsters need to be tried and tested'.
Then 'Well if others can do it, why not mine'?
What good is that expierence when lost!
I often felt like asking 'Why didn't yours make it home then'! Or 'Well saves cost feeding and sending next week or so eh'! But the blame aimed at any and everyone - bar themselves - is incredulous! Often it may be the guy facing back at them in the mirror!
Racing at 'All costs' can be a very high cost!
Yes, 'Hindsight' maybe should be swap with 'foresight' I guess.
When early races, and poor forecasts of East winds maybe one should remember, all creatures hate the east wind. Those getting home from a hard race in an East wind are often more than likely ruined for the remained of the season. What good is that experience for the youngster eh!
Some never learn. That's a fact. A lousy day from 90 miles can be every bit a disaster as a 300-500 miler. I always said the 'The best bird I have, is in the loft'! Lost ones never breed anything any good ... or bad for that matter. |

| Always told, by the 'older fanciers' the better and more successful fancier, the more you listen ... and take note'.
However I feel, found, that you had to have a repore with them.
Others fanceirs, with scatter performances' ely on a nod and wink implying much, but stating nothing lol. |

| All ideas and suggestions are worth listening to, some you can have a good old laugh at, and others consider more favourably.
Variety is the spice of life and there is no sport with more opportunity to go from the sublime to the rediculous in ideas and preferences, and long may it be so.
But agree whole heartedly David about some of that spouted.
Regards. |

| Spot on. What's the adage 'Empty Vessals make the most noise'! True, any way but which to be heard, and in their Mind's eye' given credit.
Often see, unbelievably, Names advertising and endorsing products - Which more than likelt- though given by the company, are never used. Yet Vessal boys stand by it. Marvellous too I feel is of rubbish spoken via 'Names' when filling the page - Paid for - to m\ke a reading. large there on believed and sworn by ... By the vessals. No commonsense is applied via them, let a forethought of reality! |
