| Starlings
Starlings.
Two or three years back, I posted regards the Starling murmurs.
I also went to Norwich, due to an advertisement I saw in that regards, which had parking. With a cafe etc. So hot drinks etc. Money costing, only to be expected. Also a good tourist attraction! We couldn't find it. So we went to the 'Tourist' place, which is/was inside the Council offices etc. they couldn't tell me anything. Disgraceful! She said bluntly. 'Didn't know. Attitude 'Didn't care! So went to the Council part it's self. Same language and attitude. Never saw any, a wasted trip in that regards, of course. Last two years, the murmurs have been small. I have, like most, seen a video of 'Murmurs' and the numbers. It is pretty impressive, but not the real thing, just a desire by some of us to visit. Whittlesea Bay was the last I saw a decent one.
But nowhere have we ever seen anything like it here! I look out the bedroom window and enjoy, with Joyce, the biggest and most numbered 'Murmur' ever! ! I can see a good mile away and hundreds of yards on either side. About the size of six football fields, at least on either side. Yes, they start slow, not long now, I guess. Then droves upon droves head toward our house - Yes, I feel very privileged, lol.
Thousand upon thousands from all directions joining up. Sometimes they disappear from view yet come back stronger. The sizes mentioned are quickly filled in the sky! I have trees here and two giant conifers next door, where they swoop into in droves. In unbelievable numbers - though they nigh always take off again later to settle elsewhere.
My son's and daughters family, like Joyce and I, watch them most nights.
Now it seems nigh all in Kettering do. Also, not just the fields in front of me, but Kettering's whole town gets covered. |

| True O/S. Looking as a big Lib of Race liberation when sky is full of swirling pigeons ... Sky full of them, when my youngsters used to come through them to land and clock in ... Never bothered them a mite etc.
However must say this year Murmur is times more. Sky completely full and tiers above tiers. Grand children love seeing it, as do most I guess. Missed the Bluebells last year Daz. Won't this year that's for sure. Another wonder showing of nature eh. Every year they bring a joy to the heart. Was a time when Gypsies sold them on the door. Was a time when we kids started looking to the Jaw daws as making them pets. Like wise S/H ETC. |
