| Pity the postmen/women today, have to visit every house with a load of useless leaflets etc;
We have several building sites going on at the same time.
Some in the best areas are filled with detached properties taking up land where several affordable homes could have been built.
On others slap up homes where there are more snagging afterwards than when being built.
Our local newspaper wrote an article by a local estate agent stating how great the present housing market was, numerous buyers buying second holiday homes.
Then you wonder why the average worker has no chance of owning their own home.
Regards. |

| No, the Junk mail that the postman delivers is a side line. Paid by the 'Advertisers etc. Extra cash. Wife at home foldolding etc. he delivering. Don't blame them. mUst be £30 or more per 1000 now. Ws £20 12 years ago.
Mate, a post man was attacked often by a Rttfiler. Had words to the home owner. Write letter asking to have the dog under control. Was bitten a couple of times, Not too pleased. All to no avail. So took their post back to the offece. Long story short was told he'd be sack if not delivering their post!
Nephew worked there at time... He was asked if he could do a different round for a couple of weeks as there were complaint coming in from that round. so he did. took a lot of abue. Asked if he could read and know where the roads were etc.
Turns out the postman before COULDN'T read! So rthe put him in the sorting office.... that didn't last long!
So now, after 15 years he walks around and does .... What ever. Can't sack him! But i say some else must have filled in the job request!
Another was real quick - 29 years ago. Back home by 9 to take kid to school ... Many complained and aked why hey weren't getting any post! So he was followed. He went home via the river ... and deposited the post in it.
Another crook, with three others got 6 months fiddling the Pools each week - instead of going for a 'Big Win'! They would do the pools Saturday night after the results. put the stamp on the previous Tuesday date on the envelope and send it in. |
