| UPDATE 19/08/2021 August 19th, 2021 Good Evening
Again they were stretched out today , Percy did get round them at the start but within two minutes everything had cleared and around 200 came in the expected time but the others are making hard work of it.
Weather permitting they will be training again tomorrow bar any that came after 1pm today.
I wont be moving on until the birds do what is needed that is my golden rule.
The weather looks good next week so the plan after tomorrow is 30 miles on Monday 40 miles on Wednesday and Friday and that’s weather permitting and how the birds do.
Hot Spot One is pencilled in for Sunday the 29th of August from Ashbourne at 70 miles or the week commencing Monday the 30th.
We will try to follow up with Hot Spot two 5 days after Hot Spot One so please bear this in mind with regards to pooling.
Hopefully with this extra time allowed the birds and things will fall in place for us and believe me i am trying my hardest to give the birds the best chance its just been the most challenging year for us for a good many years.
Will update tomorrow evening. |

| too soon for me i think they are being rushed now,ok for those homing in reasonable time but the latecomers ? you only have to look at the training times but i guess it needs/wants to be done and dusted by end of september as weather and temp in october could be iffy |

| Have flown and know many others have, pigeons over 350 miles one week and 450 miles the week but one after.
The pigeons just have to be fit and of course have the ability.
These in the OL are supposed to be from fanciers best yet struggle from within sight of the loft to get back in reasonable time and often not at all.
You cannot keep blaming raptors, something ( in my opinion the treatment the OL birds are getting, both medicinal and training) is not conjusive to good practice.
A total and utter Cock Up.
Regards.

yes i agree darren, looks like he is trying to rush things along now , but when you think of how training started at 1 mile intervals, and all the wasted time with pointless training tosses, it makes you wonder if these running the one loft actually know what they are doing, or are they just not bothered about the birds welfare ..... |

| Yet a simple fact, was two 50 milers a week. kept the youngsters and old birds in fine fettle Agreed it is my belief - if Loft exercised every day, that is in its self a waste of time and effort. But would keep the vast majority of fanciers happy. 11 miles lol . I took more, as a kid, on a push bike lol.

Don 't quite know here etc Misty whether too just or maybe even with your last type comment because I'm what you say in your wisdom there is true, sadly. In certain ways, treat babies like babies & they will just behave like babies I've found give them the respect they are due thou & the best of them can do amazing type things on a race track by what I've seen in my time here. Now normal day at the office here on race day through out the race season for the average type local punter Race North on Saturday, toss south 50 odd miles. Sunday day of rest toss North, 60 odd miles etc. Now another now certain cowboy/brave heart types go West thou at times if looking to test the thrill factor out & go bald/grey in the process & hopefully get their pigeons thinking outside the box factor & tuned into racing mode looking into the unknown scenario into the future with racing. Now another now a thought here maybe for Jeremy, maybe. Because one could possible say what's good for the goose is good for the gander also type of thing when talking in a O/L racing sense, maybe as yesterday here, for his own reasons (which I fully understand, why) my goose here went West for the first time with his birds to simply smarting his little flock of 600 odd birds up for their 2nd race shortly of 300 odd miles with a toss of 40 odd miles, with the first 30 odd miles there actually over water if they all kept on line to the loft. When a know nothing type here saw what he was up too (the goose) he said to himself if all plays out as expected with the toss, taking the strong side wind & the water factor into consideration there, they should drop at the home end hopefully on the 60 minute type mark for the first batch. I wish to report thou now I was wrong somehow with my estimation factor I'm as the first mob there of hundreds dropped in on the 56/7 minute mark somehow . So what in the end maybe does that all mean for my gander (your Jeremy there) Well could I say, maybe just follow the example of a simple Aussie type with your birds there now & stop pussy footing around there & making a complete & utter fool of yourself unfortunately & take them all over to France now maybe the next time you decide to toss them all there for the enjoyment factor . End of the day here my goose, had 590 odd birds fly there last race here from 200 odd miles & yesterday he had somehow 600 odd birds under his management fly home in his little toss over our pond/water as such, with most of them on average by their posted times coming on line across the water in the end somehow I suspect . ***** |

cheers darren, they just brought the convoy back anyway, be plenty unhappy fanciers but can't help the weather, it's glorious here but rubbish elsewhere. |

| No wonder our sprot is going to the dogs. Leadership! Blind leading the blind. Fiddling, and arrogant show offs. We have had no chance over the last 20 - 30 years. except watch our beloved game going to the dogs ...
Even many Dog Tracks have gone too. |
