the thing i would suggest is to start them off from scratch mate only give em half thier normal feed for a couple of days then gradualy increase it as they start to respond to what you want them to do not what they want to do i may be wrong but thats the way i would do it

cut the corn down you will soon get them into a routine, then keep them on their toes. i keep mine like that and they go in really well,if one or two act on they get less to eat hten they are first in next time

have cut the food down yesterday to virtually nothing and some still wont come in, i left them out all day till 6 oclock when i let the others out for exercise and they didnt fly for long but came in......only thing is 2 different ybs are out and will spend a night out now im afraid, im sick of fussing round them so if they dont want to respond to my methods it will be worse for them because they will all be going to the first race regardless of wether they range, train etc......if i loose them all then so be it.

i agree rene, today they seem to have responded a bit better and only one yb still out.....but this same bird isnt looking too well to be honest so it isnt going to be interested in food therefor it wont come in to the sound of the corn tin. |

hi ginger, not saying i definately wont race next year......what im saying is ive no plans at the moment to race next year, im just thinking of this years yb season and not holding any back for racing as yearlings as i wont be racing obs for definate, one reason is racing obs is harder than ybs in my opinion and also this year breeding more ybs than ever and having them on the dark etc has taken up a lot of time which i dont really have to spare and i didnt realise it would take over my life.
