| cheers Darren, dark uns are Hardy Krugers got in to try @300 miles, not stocking but going on the road, time will tell. First few nights the hens are taken out and put in the YB section next door till morning then back in open boxes during day just as daylight breaks. Maybe some switch partners but doesn't bother me. I leave the boxes open as they're so small if a wrong bird goes in hopefully they get out without too much blood and snots flying After 2 or 3 nights I'll just open the sliding door between sections and let them get on with it, this way the hens can get some rest on the single YB perches cos some of these cocks get too revved up and start giving them a real hard time coming on to drive, viscous streak in the blues! Day 4 clean the bowls and put a felt in with a handful of straw, after that it's in the lap of the gods |

| Nothing wrong with that lot barnie, condition a credit to you.
If looks were everything you would be home and dry.
Good to get back to some pigeon action.
They appear content to me should have no trouble.

| birds look great misty and doing well even the old man of the loft 13 years old now and still the boss of the loft cocks and hens still seperated and may stay that way even if paired i may just take the eggs away ...not racing now but am really enjoying the time with the family its not until you have some time from away from pigeons you realise how much time you spent with them especially not having any help with a partner theres alot to be said for a partnership i reckon as it gives you a chance of a break and lessens the burden financially so its a good choice to have a partner ,do i miss it ...yes a little but the hole has been filled with making other memories but will keep my feathered freinds they did me proud so they will have a home for there lifetime but just pets now i did breed some last year and gifted them out and a few pairs bred winners out of the 6 pairs i have still breeding ...one pair in particular had 2 nests with 3 ybs bred and 2 of them won and the other scored but its too much work for nothing and chasing people up to find out the results i have had pigeons for years and not raced them so its as you were for me ,mind you if you want a few ybs for a breeder buyer i would be happy to breed you some for free ,just supply the rings atb |

| Thanks oldstrain, can understand your reasoning regarding racing etc;
Glad you are keeping those that have served you well, believe me when you are without our feathered friends after years of enjoyment it is hard to come to terms with.
Still look out of the window and visualise an old favourite looking in and old men do cry.
Also thanks for the offer regarding breeder buyer, I used to run one for our club but it is no longer a real proposition too few fanciers interested.
Pity we did not have a decent OL to enter.
Keep well.
Regards.

| picked my 2005 cock up this afternoon, and he handles fantastic.........strong arched back and broad shoulders, he handles as good as any of the other cocks who are less than half his age ........never handles a 17 year old like it. |
