| Let birds out other day for first time and lost a beautiful hen to bop. Absolutely gutted . It took some getting the rest in . Had them back out today . No problems today but needed 3 of us in the garden on lookout . Me with my rifle lol |

| sorry you lost one to the hawks ray, i always used to have my air rifle loaded and ready when i had birds out, but chances are it happens so quick, and wouldn't have chance to aim and fire .......
a few years ago ken / friendslofts gave me the idea of using mirrors to reflect the sun, it did seem to work .... |

| Awful to hear Ray, it's never a one you're not bothered about that they take. I'm on tenterhooks everytime I open them up, can hear the wild birds shrieking in the hedges when there's a hawk around. Some of the pigeons are dropping on the roof behind the spikes, easy targets so have to get them out that habit this week. |

s As said couple of days ago, hawk killed woody in front garden, never happened before. With the racers it is two two, they killed two, and I killed them still have photos. Just left body where they left it and waited next day and shot them. Think the females are now on the hunt. Know how I felt at the time could have gone out and shot the lot. Regards. |

| Cover the last meal with salt.
They don't drink water in the wilds. Yes tame ones have to! But they get their moisture etc. from blood. So can't clear salt away. Was used very extentsively during war years. They are also scavengers, so will take/eat any carcasses... salt it!
Funnily enough the RSPB actually use to recommend Salt. |

Would be nice to hear how matters progress with those who actually race and also David how your youngsters are doing. Enough doom and gloom we need cheering up. Pity we are not involved in a OL race, however, the last one was a fiasco, lets see how this one goes. Oddest times I have ever seen. Regards. |
