i think futurity style breeder/buyers are the better option, buy your own back or fingers crossed a decent fancier gets them to the final.

thats what our club breeder buyers do colin, we can either buy them back or someone else buys them ........whatever money is raised over 2 sales is then divided up into paying out 8 yb races, usually £100 - £120 per race, half to the breeder and half to the buyer, or the full amount if you buy your own bird back.

about 3 years ago 2 ybs i put in were bought by the same fancier, he won £520 with them both, i got £260 so was happy with that .

its our first breeder buyer sale this sunday, but i wont have any ready for it until the second sale on the 24th april .

Great pity no OL for the syndicate this year, I know we grumbled about the way they were handled in some ways but all told we had our monies worth and were involved in the final, many were not.

I think oldstrain did the syndicate proud.

Lets hope the current problems are dealt with and all have a good racing season.

Regards.

yes i agree misty, even considering the way things turned out, it did give us something to focus on and take an interest in ......maybe another year if we can get enough interested or if we find a good one loft we are happy with eh.

Thanks for everything Darren.

Wish the best for you and yours.

Hope Alfie is doing well in his persuits.

Also the family all OK.

Agree about winning, not the be all and end all but nice to have one now and then, I always sent with the intention of doing so and was content with the results overall, watching the pigeons doing their own thing and breeding was as rewarding as winning etc;

Would be nice to keep us informed of how things are Darren on occasions.

All the best for you and yours Darren.

Regards.

Not causing trouble or anything so don't take it the wrong way . Winning means everything to me and our barry . . Obviously family first yes but regards winning at pigeons or football or darts , hate getting beat and we do anything within our means to do so

The one who pays the piper lads calls the tune.

If you take up a sport with the sole aim of winning then nothing to do with anyonev else, and most people do, whilst others take a broader view and get pleasure from being involved at many levels.

Just hope you have a good season no one could ask for more.

As for the one loft, you need an equal amount of luck relative to the quality of the entries, will be interesting to see how things go.

Regards.

hang on a mo lads Laughing i will always be a part of the forum ,what i meant was i am done with one lofts ,i will always look in on the forum and keep in touch ...regards winning i always sent to races with the intention of winning and gave it my all and for a small loft i did ok and have some great memories but it took a few years to get to grips with all the aspects of pigeon racing ,i would never condemn anyone wanting to win every race they entered as thats the name of the game and as ray says no matter what i hate losing at anything in a sports sense especially darts i hated losing a county match and would be in a stew for a week lol! i have the utmost respect for you and your brother ray as its not easy staying on top in the pigeon game ...especially as its unpredictable at times and one is not in full control of the situation its a mix of dedication from the fancier and the determination of the bird, good luck to you for 2022 and to all our members racing this year ,i do miss the buzz of racing though theres nothing quite like it when they are due to arrive at the loft and you see your first one buckle those wings eh Wink cheers yes that feeling will always be with me Basketball
