change in weather

just after 12-00 been woken up by thunder and lighting and very heavy rain just finished a job of trying to keep the rain out without using plastic it's being tested now

each year i would cover the wire windows with plastic it did not last the winter so tried something else this year with scrap ply to see if it worked before buying new wood it was well tested last night both lofts dry will wait till Morgan comes just can't hold drill nail now as i used to other windows only need one to cover

thats the problem with aviaries , we want them open for the fresh air, yet when it rains they get wet .....its just been trial and error for me in the past .

same here David don't want to spend good money on new wood till i get it right

same here george with the loft extension, with the price of wood at the moment it would cost a fortune ........if i could eventually manage to extend it would give me the room to house a team of young birds and maybe have a go at racing them .

every now and then i consider packing in with the pigeons, but it would pray on my mind if i did, that i didnt give it a go at young bird racing ......

i kept 4 ybs back for myself this year i have to stop that if i want numbers down

i kept 2 back, my stock birds are 6 - 7 years old now and at some stage will stop breeding, so if i save a couple each year they will replace the others as they get too old ......
