| i used to buy yellowskin peanuts unsalted from health shop local to me but i think colin uses redskin ones so i would trust his judgement to ,main thing is be sure they are not old and wrinkly as they will be sure to be mould infested although you would not see the mould with the naked eye |

| More bunkum talked about feed as many other matters relative to our sport.
Go to Johnson and Jeff,George, can get top quality pea nuts in varying quantities, Used them for over 40 years, just nipped out to out greenhouse to see name. and size of bag 20 kL.
That is for the squerels and woodies etc; since not having our feathered friends.
When racing, as stated in previous posts, I used an all year round mix that included pea nuts.
Also always had a pocket full to keep in good grace with the pigeons.
Results George not assumptions count.
Regards.

| George if yours don't fly out they don't want to be getting too many peanuts as they can be fattening. I get these from Morrisons when they got 2 for one offer. Great once the pigeons take to them, they calm the wildest of pigeons once they get hooked. |

NATURE George.
When you see wild birds mucking about with food that's the time to join in.
Grinding up reduces the pigeon's ability to digest in a proper manner for the species.
Ruins the guts capability to work in the manner nature intended.
That is why grit is important.
Better not to pander to fads, keep things simple.
Tis far harder to keep pigeons in full bloom and show condition in completely open loft than in clinical fastened up conditions.
Could put bloom on any pigeon in a clinical loft in no time.
When going to a show just made sure feet were clean and no lice or any other matter that would be detrimental and off we go.
Last Show I entered was the CLEETHORPES OPEN, the last one ever held.
Among other cards got Best Opposite SEX.
The year before in another large show got Best In SHOW' among other cards.
Never entered a show without getting cards and many firsts.
Not bragging George just pointing out there is an easy way and a hard way.
Regards

Always a good idea George to have a few nuts in your pocket all the time, the best way to make friends with your pigeons will get used to it and follow you around. Usually once paired up they settle down. Seed, too much, not a good idea, nor feeding on the perch. Regards. |
