an old freind

had a visit from an old freind yesterday,he had moved to pembroke the coast of west wales about a year ago ,he turned up very hungry and landed in the corn bucket as soon as i got it out ...this fella was 9th amalgamation as a yearling from perth to bristol and has never spent a night out ...how he found his way from west wales after 1 year is beyond me a difficult 140 miles...anyhow he wont be going back as the owner has not even bothered to phone me and the bird still had my address ring on it ,he is the sire of our 3rd ace in the rpra one loft ,must have the homing instinct this fella eh wonders wil never cease with our feathered freinds eh as for the new owner well what a outhouse eh

great news darren, nice to hear he made it home ........if the person you gave him to ever contacts you i`d say he never came back,

it shows his love for your loft is strong.

yes george i still have 2x 8ft x 6ft lofts with a small flight between the lofts ,yes david the guy does not give a toss eh ,you would think a phone call would have been made and besides it still had my telephone ring on it and stock rings digging into the birds upper leg friggin idiot

Are you sure the fancier you gave the pigeon to still had it ?,

There could be several explanations.

Maybe he is worried where it went and expected you would contact him if it returned.

its happened before misty and he went on holiday so the guys a door handle in my opinion besides its not for me to chase him up it was his bird,i would not dream of sitting back and letting the previous owner contact me ,it tells me alot about his line of thought regards pigeons so he wont be getting the bird back or any others that return if i knew what i know now he would not have got a single bird off me

totally agree darren, its up to him to contact you, if he was bothered about the bird that is ....

it happens a lot bred of it then throws it out it can stay or go thing is Darren this one will grow into many

i agree george, some do that, breed off it then throw it out ....

i probably will race again once alfie is up and running doing his own thing ,yes alot breed from them then show the door

any update on the bird darren, did the "new owner" contact you...do you still have the bird ?
