| had to say goodbye to my old favorite "the turkey king" he was 14 and had been on a downward curve for 6 weeks i tried a few different things but nothing seemed to make a difference and he was just getting worse so i had to do the decent thing as he was beginning to look down in himself,he won me the first race we entered in and will remember that day for the rest of our lives ,alfie will be upset when he gets home ,we will miss him greeting us on a daily basis ,it was a hard dig but now resting in the pets paradise in the garden surrounded by forget me nots and heather ,god bless you fella forever in our memories ....sorry lads but this was a special character atb |

| Tis the hardest part in anything to do with pets etc; David.
But if one has given them love and a decent life one can only appreciate that both have been well blessed.
Well know the feelings involved David.
Regards. |

| Sorry oldstrain for the misunderstanding, first thought it was David and then had to start a new topic.
Just answered it in the normal way.
How I confused you and David I know not.
See if this one goes through.

| Cannot understand what happened the first time.
If the photograph is anywhere near a recent one he looked in very, very, good condition and has obviously had a very good life, far better than the majority of our feathered friends.
The vast majority of racing pigeons do not reach anywhere near double figure age and the age is getting lower as yearlings appear to dominate results.
Parting with any loved pet is heart breaking but look what we would have missed without them.
