Another one gone.

Been to a funeral here today etc of a icon type flyer & a friend of 40 odd years as such. Hardly won a race in his life in a pigeon sense, but his skill factor fortunately was in the management side mostly with making his club & federation at the time move with the times, to now being the envy of many similar type organisations down here.

Sad fact that we lose many fanciers to the loft in the sky, more is the pity they are
not replaced by their like.

Sad, but true I'm as you say Misty. Had the President of my Fed here sitting right in front of me today etc paying his due respects, another Icon figure of the highest order actually sitting beside me doing the same also, because we all know we sadly lost a workaholic type in a pigeon type sense down here. End of the story, Icon sitting beside me today here old school, set in his ways first toss this coming Sunday apparently as normal, 30 odd miles up black fella country & guess who has hitched a ride on the day there now even if he has an extra 10 miles or so to  fly into a head type wind by all reports .

Afraid it is a worldwide problem David and for many different reasons.

From starvation, disease, conflict, crime, and natural disasters etc;

Just read about a pigeon fancier in the Ukraine living in the firing line carrying on as normal, says if his time is up, it is up.

Perhaps the best way to look at matters in these trying times.
