All the small time fanciers will be clapping their hands at someone entering all those pigeons and lifting the prize money for them to have a go at.

auction ends today, winner of the final and 1st ace is at £3,420 with around 6 hours to go .....

anyone planning on bidding on anything ...?

theres a few nice looking birds without a bid on them, they didnt race the final or some of the hot spots, but that might not have been there fault ........

Some must have faith in the future of racing, I have grave doubts.

What happens if a pigeon does not get a bid ?.

RPRA Auction finished, 1st fetched over £5,600 but not on present list ?.

Quite a few never got a bid, would have thought for a few bob the ones who entered them would have bought them, they get half.

Missed the lot here I'm Misty     Oh well looks as if unfortunately I will just have to breed off my bunch of late breds here now that just flew our 500 mile race etc. Talk about being unlucky story of my life thou        truth be told     .

You ain't missed anything Knackered of importance.

Never actually heard of  many OL winners etc; doing anything afterwards.

Maybe the odd one.

Bet not one of the OL entries would fly 500 miles in race time, if at all.

The stamina has been bred out for speed, the latter short lived.

Once money becomes involved tis bingo for the health of the animals and birds involved.

Once the old timers raced and won with pigeons nearly up to  double figures in age, now pardon the pun, they are knackered at the yearling stage now.

for me this is a easy answer a friend bought a yb from a loft he knows well and paid £75 for it to go into a olr it has come back from the final late he don't have a loft so offer it to me

If it was not in the auction it must have come in very late after the final.

Do not want to be a spoilsport George but if it was me would stop having gift pigeons from all over the place and concentrate on the ones you have.

our George is like a cat chasing it's tail I'm from my perspective here Misty Love him to bits here but the man has to learn to maybe now say No No No in a pigeon type sense I suggest. End of the story If I can have 30 odd years here between drinks, by actually walking into some ones back yard to actually buy birds surely it shows that it's not all that difficult in certain ways to simply say No I suggest.

Family built around one of those type pigeons down here Misty Back when, 6 years on the track type thing, flying to 2 different lofts etc. One of those fly all day pigeons & the next day type thing, even a brick wall moment was just something it flew through to get home at times .

families now days don't want to be sitting around waiting on pigeons till dark

by what ive read there doesnt seem to be a lot of fanciers too bothered about flying the channel now, having to be registered and have a vet do checks each year seems to have put a lot off it .......

Not in my lifetime down here George thankfully many folk  here still love our distance types events fortunately with a passion etc with our general 5/600 & 700 odd mile races.
