More Corn ....

over the last few days ive started giving my birds a bit more food because of the cold weather ........... good idea or bad ?

anyone else done this, how much corn are others giving their birds now ...?

cutting down now on the hens stopped filling the hopper no more small seed they have been leaving a lot of corn they don't like

They will pick and choose George if there is a choice and wait for the next delivery.

Never hopper fed but if I had would have a basic beans/peas etc in the hopper and hand feed small seed etc;

Waist a lot of feed otherwise.

  picking & choosing have a strange weird feeling here George somehow, you're not the boss there type of thing .

Maybe I'm a soft touch David but we got a few inches of snow here and it's below freezing. Mine are fed a measured amount about 11;30 am by my wife, which is roughly one scoop to 4 birds working out about ounce and a half per bird. I told her to put an extra scoop or two in today till they start loosing interest in the barley, but I know she'll put more in regardless, I think she does everyday anyway but she's a good heart

Be kind to her Colin blessed are they who fortunately have a willing helper on hand as such when one has to work etc I suggest & winter is knocking on the door    .

One lucky man Colin it appears. My Joyce down here is my rock etc thankfully. Though at times, somewhat of a wee pain in the **** type thing I'm because of her normal everyday type common sense factor she is blessed with, compared to my normal somewhat erratic type ways at times .

MMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmm talk about a Scrooge/Putin type Misty (no Xmas card) Here I was thinking about doing a bit of surfing & sunbaking in Scarborough for Xmas etc. Out the door now I'm might just try sunny Leeds to see what surf conditions they have there & perhaps maybe get a tan as well .

In Leeds Knackered it would be rust rather than a tan.

Here you would be most welcome but would advise a fur coat to surfing gear.
