hippo boxes

would i be able to use hippo boxes for/as breeding boxes for next season .... or would i be better trying to make nest boxes but a bit smaller just i have 2 sections to fill up ...

hi phil, should emagine if there is enough room for a bowl and a bit of room round it they should be ok.....my widowhood boxes are smaller then the normal ones and they are perfectly suitable.

right lads my wife today went out shopping and come back home with plenty of wood 18mm mdf all cut to size to make some nest boxes for the loft .lololololol
and she is going to make them over weekend while she home alone so i will take pics when there done ... and then she going to gloss them and water proof them she says

right lads my wife as been very busy for the day makeing the nest boxes and ere is a pic i thought she was useing ply board to cover one side but she shocked me ... she used some old plastic fronts ...

honest wife job but was a few problems with useing the fronts ..... as they where in the garden when we took it on
she said she likes useing a drill

i think she must have trained as a joiner when she was younger eh ?

im going to get her to make me some more but with out the front on for the hens section ........ same size then if i need to front them i can in time

tell you what phil, shes done a cracking job with them..............im not putting women down by saying this but there are a lot of men who couldnt make those.

that is right well i was going to buy them off ebay and she said she poppin out come back with the boards cut to size ...

yes had the same thought myself phil, i know B AND Q will cut the chipboard to size for you and then its just a matter of screwing it togeather......but its still not an easy job and still some men couldnt do it.

i wonder if she could build an 18 x 6 loft.......

depends what u want to spend as i was looking on ebay a found a cheap garden shed page

yes phil, me too....im always looking on there for cheap sheds which are local to me...... , ive heard of a 16 x 6 loft which is near me thats for sale so ill be having a look this week and maybe buying it.
