| i his knew a guy when you went into loft his floors was wire grids all the shit went straight through and rotted into the ground never cleaned much just scrapped the perches now and then what is you thoughts on this good or bad |

| hi mark, ive seen this before but as far as i know its scraped out from under the grills every so often.........i dont know how it would rot down as i would have thought the damp/moisture from the ground (thats if it was soil) would make the droppings wet and therefor make it smell and be harmful to the birds....... i would say its a good idea, as long as its scraped out regular..... |

| I am in the process of building a new loft at the bottom of my field, its 34 feet long 12 foot wide, and its going to have a pit in the centre of the sections with grids fitted. Then once a week take the grids up and sweep, every month I will pressure wash the pit. I am going to put pics on the site as its built, showing all tyhe stages of the build just for interest, and any sugestions welcome. |
