wouldnt write it off yet tho phil, could make a good bird next season......lets face it , it must have had a good look around the country and its come back on its own from wherever its been...........also with the feet being muddy it tells us it has been living rough and not dropped in to the nearest loft it could find, i had one come back after 5 weeks, but 6 months is a long time so it must have a good homeing instinct. Very Happy

Here's one for you in 1989 lost a young cock bird was a ring special just went of the loft the pigeon returned on the wednesday as the race was on the saturday, my dad was mad with the pigeon and placed the bird in the race basket and sent it to plymouth which was the race point that weekend

The best thing was this pigeon was timed in and finished 3rd in the open race just goes to show pigeons can make fools of us all, the pigeon had been lost for over 3 months

The pigeon went on to win the sartilly race as a yealing but lost him at natnes 3 bird open was a smash

i had a bird once that was fighting with another cock and they nearly killed each other the friday before the race, the mate came to my garden and told us not to send them as they where so tired with the fighting..well we did send them and one cock topped the fed and went on to win 2 races, just goes to show we cannot work them out...as other members got stories like these let us know

yes don, the old birds i let go are the parents of my 2010 yb team.........so if they tear the road up next year ill be gutted.......... lol!

no not really gutted, i let a friend who lives local have them.....he told me that if any of the ybs do well i could have the parents back, but i wouldnt do that....they are his birds now and hopefully they will breed him some good 2011 ybs to win for him... Very Happy
