Everyone will have their opinion david but I think 10 pair is ok in a 6' x 6' loft, you can put the birds in and keep an eye on them but I think its ok.

depends if they have acess to a flight also how much ventilation are they flying out i would say it probably is the guideline is 1 sq metre of loft space per bird

sorry it should have said 10 pairs/20 birds.......... the birds will be flying out and will be rearing only one round of ybs, some of the 10 pairs will be my race team for this season and most likely flown on the natural system because they are inexperienced, having only two 56 mile races last season as ybs.

David I have a stock shed that has 10 pairs in it, its 6x8. They have been in there for 3 years with no problems however there was 14 pairs in there one year and still all was ok. They dont have a flight but lots or ventilation, the wind blows in one side that has a mesh instead of a window, and where the door is a put a false mesh door on during the day, so when its windy the wind howls through it. they are on deep litter and its dry they really do look well always, so I would say 10 pairs is probably on the limit but will be ok with lots of ventilation, a flight would make it perfect.

Will agree with Martyn but when you have youngsters there is the need for more air but as long as there is plenty of ventilation and with having a flight/ avairy on it will help more |
