FUT rings came today...

ian my rings came today, didnt know they would only have 3 numbers on them and futurity on them.......so what happens if these birds survive the yb fut race ? can they be raced in races as old birds with these special rings on ? and if for instance i wanted to race a bird with these rings on would it be possible.....?

Yes mine came today, never seen such bright rings, you could track the birds from space with them....

yes david its exactly the same the rings are registered in my name and i will be racing them in the club races up until the futurity race

so if i for instance by the time my ybs are weaned its too late to send them to you, could i race them in my club with these rings on...?

ah right, and any which are left from the fut can be raced as yearlings/obs...? do they have an oldbird fut race...?

no david only a youngbird futurity mind you cant see why they dont , maybe because they dont get the ten pounds for the rings the following year

yes, probably right ian..........altho if fanciers enter the nationals without a nfc ring i think they have to pay a fiver per ring...... couldnt they make it so a fee has to be paid to enter an old bird fut race, im sure if they wanted to hold one they could find a way........

yes i think they could maybe should put a proposal in , david after the futurity we have the youngbird national so i will put them in this theres about 20,000 birds competing in this so you never know, fingers crossed , we also have a youngbird channel race from lillers might enter a few in that will see

so can you tell us what the race program for our fut birds will be roughly, what will be the first actual race they will fly in ? and how many races will they compete in as ybs...?

yes i get it now ian, so these races are your own club races and then we enter the fut instead of the peterborough race.......

how far is the fut and where is it from.

i asked when i picked up rings know its around 200 miles the race point unsure at this time will post up when i find out

yes will use the club races as a stepping stone to the big one ,have got lillers at the end of season if you want them to go there

right, yes its a good bit of planing which martyn has said re choosing the correct type of ybs to send you..............i know nothing about the fut racing but by what ive heard its a proper race and the winners will have to work for it, so maybe a certain type/breed will do well in it.

also bear this in mind david always done well in south shields in this race
