| We have already had our first two racesof the 2011 sason here on the Algarve, first week was a disaster on the trap 6 mins I had 7 birds sat in line on he roof before one trapped(I had to change the landing board at the last minute)
This week the trap was not bad 2 birds 7 seconds apart and we Classified 15 birds 5th and 6th were the best 2 but we classified in 1st place overall as it works like a 2 bird average. Our club sends around 700 pigeons a week so they multiply that by 0.2 to get a fith of 700 in this case 140 so there are 140 classifications. You can have an A team a B team and your yearlings or in our case Ybs rung with 2010 rings is C team and you have to stipulate what birds are in what team before the season begins(they cannot change teams)
No more than 30 birds per team per week. The first 2 pigeons in each team score your weekly points, and as I said earlier you try to classify as many pigeons as you can in the top 20 percent. I like it better than just racing for 6 positions as was our clubs in the UK. |

| It is more interesting and you are limited to 30 birds max in a team, you can send 90 birds but only in 3 seperate teams, the winning pigeon scores 154 points and then the second bird 153 and so on, I am looking after and training Antonio Manuel Reis M Dias pigeons and the Ybds C team are in my name Kevin Spencer. If you are interested you can check out the website here http://www.portimao.columbofilia.net/ you will need to translate the website from Portuguese in Babel fish. Kev |
