Always used the tobacca stalks with straw also, when using the tobacca stalks always cut them to small lengths but left the straw long as straw is more flexiable then the tobacca stalks |

| Well also say used sharpe sand mixed with wood shavings in the base of the bowl but sometimes if pigeons were wet the sand got damp so stopped using sand |

| martyn this is why we see the birds pick up the straw and like need it through there beaks to get any mites out of the straw before putting it in nest have you noticed this |

| a pair of yearlings i got off ken/friendslofts have built a massive big nest, i dont know how they climb into it....... |

| my birds got a nestfelt in the bowl then I put straw in, some were lazy and didnt add to them but others took the cut up tobacco stalks off the floor and built them into their nests. |
