We had a horse last year that had a weeping eye, eventually the eye went like the one in the picture where the pupil was clear...the vet said it had an infection and was blind. The horse went on a ourse of antibiotics and the vet said when this happens they wont regain the sight but the weeping and infection would go. Well the vet was wrong because the horse did regain its sight and the pupil clouded over and went back to normal, he said that when you shine a light into the eye and it shines back at you the eye is blind. The horse was blind at first but it came back, so I would say that this birds eye is blind.

I do study eye sign but this is nothing to do with it, this is a problem with the back of the eye inside which absorbs the light and makes an image or picture, because of infection just like our horses the retina has been damaged and therefor no longer makes an image the nerve can recognise, so its blind, but as with our horse it might come back?

sounds a good theory martyn, very intertesting.......so the birds must have had an infection at some point in its life, wonder how it made this happen ? or would the infection have been in its eye, maybe like one eted cold...?

Not sure david, could have been some type of cold in the eye, but it looks exactly the same to me as the horses eye, and it was just 1 eye, so would be interested to know if the other eye of the this bird is normal, this would confirm my opinion.
