hi guys i was just wondering what you all did with the water that you cooked your veg in on a sunday. i cool mine put in the fridge untill monday morning and add it to the pigeons water it has all the vits they need in it, thats another thing my dad did when i was a kid and took on myself theses days seems to do them no harm.

hi mark, yes ive heard of this before but as far as i know never tried it....they say that when you boil veg etc its in the left over water so it could be a good source of iron, vits etc. have read some put greens eg gabbage etc in the loft and have tried it but the birds dont touch it....

fresh lettuce and cabbage is good for your stock as they dont get out so they cant get anything from the garden

have seen some fanciers hang cabbage/colli etc from the roof in the loft, maybe it takes time for them to get used to it but ive tried it and no chance....they wont even go near it.

no ian, not chickweed......ive heard of fanciers putting a rusty nail in the drinker for iron. plus when i was a kid there was a family near me who collected nettles from the fields and made nettle tea with them...these are thought to have good iron content arnt they and possibly other things too...
