i like reading through my collection of old 70`s and 80`s pictorials gary, some of the old articles were very interesting altho some are a bit out dated now.....lol

I like Alan Wheeldon's stuff no messing straight to the point. The old stuff is good less bull

ive read a few of d v beldings articles and theories.........also remember reading some of bilco`s articles when he was a younger man.....

yeah david i liked them more interesting than boring results

He was going for a good while, it was a lot of those that got me into writing in the fancy press.

i like the old guy in the compound hes real funny proper old school loves his bitchamin lol and creasote

I used to like the Pigeon Sport, Alan Wheeldon. His articles were great.
Opening lines like, certain theories are rubbish. I repeat absolute rubbish and then he would rattle on. Good stuff.

what happened to that gary did they go bust

No The Racing Pigeon bought it and scrapped it. End of competition.

may as well scrap that bit of bog roll they sell for whats in it

i think quite a few of the scribes in the weeklies only do articles to give them selves a big write up...........

your right there david same as elimar they always do write ups just befor sales or during

thats right graham , its so obvious too isnt it................

you read an article by one of them, they tell you they have won this and that....then further along in the mag they have a big two page spread selling pigeons.........


they usually fly against no one any good anyway.........

oh well like we say we all make our own choice what to buy and what to feed and how to fly we all our own manegers and thats says a lot we contorle what goes on in our own little lofts well in rays case castle lol

Like I always said , find a system that works for you and stick with it. The only thing I ever promoted, was back garden fanciers, non use of antibiotics and pigeon health.
But if you don't become part of the clique old boy then, then you are not one of the boys.

i don't know why its not about much might be because where its printed. or it rely very shit book or a very good one

and the price difference stumped me as well. that one on ebay had been for sale for a while and it was on Amazon as well but at the time i didn't want to pay the extra as i was hoping to get a copy direct off him for the 26


Does any one know if jack is still with us i think he would be a fair age now ?

It may be be an excellent book and maybe that's why you can't get hold of it.
I look it it this way, if someone has taken the time to write, then why shouldn't we take the time to read it.
You never know, we may learn something from it.
What I have read, from it. It does sound like it could be full of quotes from other well known writers too.

yea Gary ill agree with you on that one. its always worth a read if its crap then all you've lost is some money
