club fees going up !!!

our birdage is 55p for all and £10 pool for 5 £2 each

so 80p a bird is dear then isnt it ian ? lets hope it means they pay out good prize money.....

yes i think so 80p x 25 birds per paniar thats £ 20 a basket iam sure the combine only charge £12.50 a paniar

Just hope you see the cost in your prize money at the end of the season

if it was about prize money then i wouldnt keep pigeons youll never get back what you put into them its for the love of the sport

i think very few fanciers do get back the cost of racing, ok there are the top flyers who might do well and in some of these one loft races etc they can win big money ....but ordinary joe public wont get it back. looking through the weeklys when i see the prize money some fanciers are getting its no better than when i raced 20 years ago.....hows this ?

because a lot of clubs were subsidised by working mens clubs also members used to get more money in by blind cards ect doesnt happen now its a dying sport unfortunately

i dont think it can be said we are in it for the money, because there isnt much of it at club level by what i can see (maybe wrong) but as long as it helps towards their keep with corn etc ill be happy..
