i remember there was always someone moaning or bickering over something...

cant please everyone all the time just some of the people some of the time

yes ian, i remember liking doing the ringing on basketing nights....i was usually on the machine putting the rubbers on or sometimes putting them in the race panniers. got to pull your weight i suppose havnt you....

It's all about working together

But now you have to pick your friends carefully in this sport now

thats right david,all members need to pull their wieght with basketing and club work.too many put their birds in then go prop the bar up and leave it all to others.

hi littlehen, i liked to basket the birds because it gave you the chance to handle other fanciers birds and see what they were like and if they seemed in condition/or what sort of condition they were in........

Little hen yes you are right with fanciers propping the bar up

But this has always happened and it was the same when i raced always the same people doing the same amount of work

But i must say after many years even i have said stuff it in the past as you never get the credit you deserve for all the hard work just taken for granted

But if everyone works together then i am the first to get my hands dirty everytime.

When i raced our club had a rota for different people to do duties and if anyone missed there turnthe club would fine them £5

Must say it stopped all the bar proppers taking advantage of the same people doing all the work

yes, good idea don....wonder if any clubs do something similar.....

In small clubs then you will have a little amount of work

The reason for saying this about small clubs is because my old club would send anything from 600/800 birds a week old or youung birds
and anything from 30/40 baskets a week

A lot of work needed for a large club and if you are leaving the same people to this work, that is the reason the club did a rota system

we started a rota but for some reason have noy continued with it this season , now the same few people are left to do the work ,

Are you one of them persons left doing the work if so i would say forget it untill other people start pulling there weight also

yes don iam there from start to finish but i enjoy it

yes ian, i used to enjoy it too....but sometimes it got annoying when it was the same people all the time doing it. always seemed to be those that did nothing that did all the moaning!!!
