i dont treat any pigeons alls they get is vitamins when a pigeons shows any sign of sickness they go in the bin and i think because of this it is very rare that i have sickness is my loft

I will agree with that remove the problem before it has time to set in on the rest of your birds

deffo not for me antibiotics are far to over used in the fancy. in my opinion he fanciers should be looking at there management and loft if they need to use antibiotics to get there birds to win.

if the birds improve after a course of antibiotics then dose that not say there was something wrong in the first place as antibiotics are designed to kill bacteria and treat infection.

i agree with what cawdy says about the problem is the fanciers management or the loft, but there is also the problem of getting desease from the race pannier, from other members birds.........as we all know some send to races with birds which are not healthy. JMO

but thats when your management and judgement should come in. blind treating is never the answer.
treat birds that are a bit off individually or even better have them tested before administering any treatment. its now possible to have birds tested at very reasonable prices.
