| the sport is killing itself with crazy liberations this ob season ....thing is when you look at the race sheet how many 3 yo and over do you see ,not bloody many and if we get a bad yb season it will dent the birdage cosiderably for next seasons ob racing and our club cant sustain that even though we have over 100 members.just 37 sent to lerwick 390 to leicester the week before and i think 170 to fraserburgh which is very poor birdage after the early season carnage so you can see what it would be if we get a bad yb season which i think we will as solar activity is about to peak for the year which is already a peak in its 16 year cycle |

daz i have had a pigeons since a young kid raced off and on since 15 and never seen a season like this before many very good lofts have very few left this will as you say reflect in the next few seasons as the horror storys coming from training chucks suggests this could be the worst y/b season ever if so it will be another nail in the sport as there will not be 2-3 y/olds wich will be a disater over the next few seasons hope i,m wrong but time will tell sean |

| sean i think in the near future what with raptor problems the way they are and if this is the shape of things to come weather wise we may well see the end of ob racing as we know it and only have yb racing and specialist ob racing which to be honest since one loft racing was introduced we were heading that way anyway also with ybs racing widow and on the dark to make them mature quicker are very much on a par with obs anyway with regards performance up to 250 mile jmo |

you could well be right Daz with the many birds lost at the classic races think it could well be the death nail in true classic distance racing in the future sean |

| I have to agree with you chaps, it does seem that there is a must go attitude thats been growing country wide, not sure what the hells going on with them really as at the end of the day if everyone just keeps loosing good pigeons because of thoses attitudes then this sport has its nails ready to hit in the coffin one by one. Our fed is no different some crazy decissions being made by one and all bringing birds back fron lib points to places we always have bad races from, libing late waiting for other feds instead of just getting them away you name it weve had it, put that together with the weather and the perigrines its a wonder there are so many of us sticking with it. How refreshing it would be if someone just took the responsibility on board and said lets take them back and start again, our fed this year didnt go to one race because another fed which has nothing to do with us decided they werent going, we have a lottery lorry brand new which holds 2500 birds and goes each week with about 100 old birds and sometimes 3/4 hundred ybs, but by the end of the season might have 150 on yet we never have midweek races which would sometimes make more sence if the weekend is too bad....its a crazy world. |
