It's coming to that time of the season, where a little extra motivation comes in handy. What motivation tactics are you thinking of employing.
or are you just racing them back to the opposite sex or to their perch.
We used to us one with with cardboard box, with holes cut out of it.

my breeder buyer hen i clcoked from newark has laid her secong egg today, hope this motivates her for this weekend......... Very Happy

paired the ybs up last wednesday hopeing this adds a little extra spice lol and the lights are on any hens that lay this week will be rested the weekend thats why all went this week ,have timed it so that hatching time should be around last race date and certainly 14 days sitting ....well thats been the plan anyway so will stick with it and the birds certainly seem more content paired up anyway bounce

For myself i would have had them all on youngsters but the partners would have been removed so they are on there own with the youngsters

Another good trick is to have a young hen paired up sitting then remove the cock bird then start plaxcing extra eggs under the hen so by the time she is basketed she is sitting up to 8 eggs then see how she will come very fast Wink

Heres one for then distance men if you have a team of hens about 10 in total train them race them lightly for the first 2 years let them get educated well but never breed from them allow them to have eggs and sit for 10 days then remove

But when they are 3 years old then allow them to sit eggs and chip but remove the cock bird of at least 7 to 10 days see how that makes them race study

Remember this will be the first youngsters they have ever had so the mother instint will be firing on all cylinders
