On a serious note though Alex your right, because certain substances can mask other substances, I would think that Marajuana in some forms because of its lasting effects would seriously mask the presence of other dugs.

the rules are very hazy and the more i look the more complicated it seems

Gaz what would you think if we had a protest at Blackpool say at a certain time as many fanciers as possible were to confer on the RPRA stand saturday and sunday george

I think that would be a splendid idea George and maybe ask a few of the trade stands that sell Medications, Treatments and other Products if they contain any banned substances.

lets be honest thr rpra dont know themselves whats banned and what is not which is why they wont do a list they need one stating the name of products instead of hiding behind terminology

it should be the members who decide what is banned, the rpra only need to enforce it........

Darren and David, I agree wholeheartedly guys.
I think it's up to us as individuals to demand a list from our federations or unions.
As I think it is these that are making the rules, but when these rules are being queried then are shifting the blame to the RPRA.

They only need to ask

RPRA have called a council meeting on 26th this month about the misuse of banned substances do you think it has anything to do with the fact the fancier has now left hospital george

well its about time the rpra made the rules clear as to what is or is not banned george, as long as all members know whats banned then we can act accordingly......

missuse of banned substances....wonder if they will finally define the rules so they can be understood

its amazing how quickly they react to bit of adverse publicity. but i agree the rules do need a serious overhaul and much clarification is needed on banned substances. a heading is just not good enough. thanks george for keeping us updated.

dunno if this might help the guys case gaz but seen on bbc breakfast the other day thats the arsnel captain openly admited to using caffeine tablets before a match

I have heard of athletes using nicotine patches as nicotine is a stimulant.
Dont know how you would stick one on a pigeon with out anybody noticing though!!!

Back in the late 90's early 2000 The Belgians and some fanciers here were allegedly using steroid eye drops, this had a amphetamine like effect on the birds also they put these drops in water and it stopped the moult.
They also found that certain other substances masked the presence of these substances.
Discoveries of new substances and masking agents are coming to light every year but unfortunately for us nobody elaborates on these new substances that are discovered, so for us we just don't have a clue.
It has also been mentioned that they don't publish lists because fanciers that don't what these substances are will be educated by the publication of any such list.

Gaz your spot on mate and it is still being used by a lot of top fanciers today but they are well educated on this situation nowdays

They will be caught in the end, look at Lance Armstrong. Somebody will get caught and spill his guts to try and save himself and i hope its soon so we can start to rid the sport of those idiots.
