hi all ... my friend as been gifted a pair of birds there o6 and 07 and he as had them in the loft since christmas day and the are well paired up but all other birds or on there 2 & 3 round there both sat in the bowland flapping the wings litely
and prrrring but this pair havent had one round ... is there any think that u can think of to do i said to split them up for a week then try again and he took the hen out for 4 days poped her back in then paird up again and notting still ... he as got 5 pairs in a 10x6 shed

i had same with dirk van dyck cock, van loon hen, i split them paired to another cock and hen

Sometimes they can get knock if they are treading on the floor by the othey cocks and sometimes the box is not large anuff

But sometimes it is because they are in a new loft environment

But sometimes due to age they may need a space on there own and also due to the cold weather may have to wait for some warmer weather with a bit of sun on there backs works wonders

so what your saying it could be many things don

Have had new pairings and the different ideas i have said have had to do mate

It's the same with late breds once the weather warms up they mature a little more then you can catch a round of them

i personally wont waste my time with latebreds total waste of time would only get them if they are bred fom really proven stock

But for me that is what late breds am for only of proven stock to keep the blood running

think most top/winning fanciers breed latebreds off their good birds if they have done well racing, or if ybs off a certain pair have done well fancier will maybe breed a round of latebreds same way bred.....

YES, PROBABLY RIGHT IAN, WAs talking to a pigeon man near me during the racing season, he had just lost a latebred racing and he was complaining saying he had kept it all through the winter and trained it and put time and effort into it just to get lost...waste of time latebreds he said......

what do you call latebreds, top flyer in club breeds april then trains after y/b racing to race as yearlings he calls them latebreds, i call latebreds what i got from harrison & hull august bred

i call ybs latebreds if they miss the racing obviously because they are too late
