got 2 delbar x marien they are 3 yo and race well for me ....both have won cards but not a red one yet but feel they need further distance which they will get next season now that the OB team has been built up

They are a breed of long distance birds

Very old Belguim strain I believe. Great long distance pigeons in there time & nice lookers to boot, were many of them etc. Main man was Maurice Delbar (Rich man) but his father had them first in early 1900s type of thing coming down from the Bricoux strain early in the piece. Glory days were around 1930/40 then after the
2nd world war for what I remember. Never afraid to spend a dollar to bring in a good cross to boost his strain (Smart man) Wink

but then would share them with "Mr Ordinary" if he thought he was a lover of good pigeons etc & flew a mean bird Wink

. Could go on for ever Smile

but he was an Icon in his time & the sport benefited without a doubt by what he left behind. At least in my view. cheers
