Should not be a problem. Will that give you longer race stations? Help me out here. If you flew from the North, would not your birds have to cross the Firth of Forth? Now over the channel? Unless you teach your birds to fly through the Chunnel! LOL! Years back Hammond and Whittaker had a hen I believe that won from the North then the South same year. However the ones I imported were pretty much useless. But again, Dordins did not do anything here or Busschearts or some other popular strain names. Aardens, have the odd one, Gson of the Paddy cock but on a regular basis the crossed ones, van loons, jannsens and others do better. But again, each country is different. Doubt if there is a pure strain any more. I do believe one makes their own family after a few years. Oh well. Hope you do well.

thanks lads yes its a shame don but our organisation is only sending 30 to 40 birds to lerwick just cant see the point anymore thurso 80 birds fraserburgh about 350 birds and that's not good birdage ...as for the Hammond and whitaker grooters halcanada they did well over here and I have some of that blood in the loft today ,got a blood red grooter ck paired to a commine hen (paul sions nephew so sion x bricoux basically) bill Hammond worked with the pigeons during the war in the armed forces and found the grooters very good birds but of course theirs good and bad in all strains and of course who is to say any of it is original as pedigrees are only bits of paper and ya cant fly paper ....but I have bred some useful birds out of this pair the hens they breed seem to be half tidy but the jurys out until I can get them a bit further down the road as they have only raced 250 mile so far ...yes you are correct I will be racing over the water from france as oppose to the opposite direction down from Scotland but I have faith the birds can turn around lets hope I am correct atb

I suspect you will be ok O/S  Smile Smile if your birds are prepared to fly it what ever the distance  Wink Wink instead of walking or swimming it etc. Just another challenge  Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes which with a bit of luck, should bring some enjoyment to you & your apprentice loft manager.  cheers

Its not the birdage the counts Darren, its the class of pigeon in the birdage, lerwick for your area is a classic/national..make no mistake about that..you will get birds tumbling in from PAU.TARBES at 570.. thats for sure....but not from Lerwick..never in this world..those fanciers like bristow on the eastcoast might have won the Kings cup,but for those jokers its a mickey mouse race..they dont even fly 500 miles its outragious, for a kings cup...
