| What natural supplements/remedies do fanciers use, and what are their benefits. I use Garlic, and the unsalted veg water when the missus cooks a roast for a bit of iron, also potassium pananganate (condis crystals) on return from a race to to cleanse them. Ive seen some posts saying people use honey, presumably for an energy boost. And also Lemon juice but ive no idea what for. Come on let us know your secrets. |

Darren told me these products when my pigeons were ill a while ago, I mistakenly treated them blind with anything I could get my hands on and probably made them worse............but since ive been using the ropa b, impact and probiotics my birds are back to full health and looking better than they ever have done...... thanks again Darren. |

| yeah provit is good stuff and I rate it as for blind treating its a big yes far too many are blind treating ...I sent a droppings test off last week it came back clear and I have done this the last 2 seasons now but prior to this I would have treated for the main 3 cocci, canker, worms and a lot do this and give a antibiotic mainly for salmonella ...a lot of blind treating going on but the thing is a droppings test is £15 and a damn sight cheaper than blind treating lol I have no doubt the supplements I am using are partly the reason for good test results ...thanks for yer reply g |

| I remember when I was a boy any pigeon that came home from a long time away was given condis crystals strong in water in a galley pot, and its head stuck in it for about 5 seconds, so that it spluttered and sneezed, and it got into every orafice to give it a good cleanse.
Also as an old canker treatment mix up flour of sulphur and cod liver oil into a ball and drop it into the pigeons throat.
Any bird that gets the snots or a mucosy throat gets a bit of dry flour of sulphur in powder form put on a tea spoon and boshed down their throat, don't let them drink for about five minutes so that it coates everything, they will sneeze a bit. I do this for about 3 or 4 days, I've treated 2 youngens in this way this season and they are fine now.
I believe Brewers has something called Riboflavin in it, which a pigeon needs but isn't always in their diet. |

Come on let us know your secrets. Always gave the birds Honey and Lemon after a race it's just like electrolytes but a lot cheaper The birds recover better from a hard race as this helps replace the low sugar levels |
