Why is it that pigeons, especially youngens sometimes seem confused when they put their head inside the water drinker, I think that sometimes where the water is clear they struggle to gauge how deep it is.
Has anyone else noticed.

Watch your youngens after their next feed.

I HAVE WATER IN THE NEST BOX WHILE THE PARENTS ARE REARING YBS, SO THEY AUTAMATICALLY LEARN AND COPY THE PARENTS, SO THEY ARE HALF WAY THERE BY THE TIME THEY ARE WEANED INTO THE YB SECTION, ALTHOUGH I DO DIP THEIR BEAKS IN THE DRINKER FOR A DAY OR TWO JUST TO MAKE SURE....... cheers

I don't mean babies just weaned, I mean all pigeons, sometimes when they stick their head in they look confused and don't always have a drink
