| this year i want to get my birds an early moult for the showing.what is it you do to get an early moult is it you increase the day light in the loft or do you decrease the daylight in the loft?i cant remember. |

| hi, when fanciers put the ybs onto the dark system it simulates the hours of winter and forces the moult earlier than normal, maybe this could be used for the reasons you want........is it ybs or obs you are wanting to know about......? |

| even if you did as martyn suggests i think they should be naturally through the moult by october anyway shouldnt they .....? so there would be no need to darken the loft. |

depends what you mean through the moult.i am looking to get my birds with all the flight through and no more growing.in october i check all my birds progress in the moult and always find all the birds are still growing flights and this means the birds arent in the best condition for showing.its by mid november they are fully through it.do any of you racing guys show your birds? |

| only just started back with pigeons but used to show 20 years ago got a few cards, show quality were just bred off not raced by some of members, plenty of sun in aviary for show and eyesign birds, less stress better for showing i was told then mate always fully through moult on time |

| only thing with darkness system is birds dont throw there flights (just body feathers) so carnt see how you will benifit from this system except catch some of the early agg shows light system might be best suited for your needs jmo |

| Just to be clear gimiks means using unatural means to speed the moult...anything other than natural. |

| i will just let them moult naturally.any advice on helping the moult i heard that iron amd cod liver oil is good. |
