| This is a question about how long the members leave their birds Feeders/Food in the loft.
Do you for example - put the feeder down, put the corn in and walk away?
Or do you wait until your birds have finished up ALL the corn?
How long do you give the birds before you take the food away?
Do you only give the birds the EXACT amount of food you know they need and if they haven't finished it all up in a certain time, you remove it?
Your thoughts please
Phil |

| we measure ours out phil they get fed twice daily and a element of barley is added as a gauge ...when a few grains of barley are left then I know they are getting enough I think barley is the least desirable grain to the pigeons ...we feed the cocks in their boxes hens and ybs get hopper fed breeders in boxes too |

| We are the same.so as a little bit is left in the troughs we take it out..We used to use pots in each and every box but not now.it took too long and they only ate the corn they liked which is no good plus lots got wasted..now using troughs they have to fight so to speak for their food or do without till next feeding time.feeding is a massive thing in my opinion it must be as perfect as you can get..I do not believe these people so say cheap corn is just as good but again just my opinion |

I also think it is better to feed altogether in a feeder. As has been said - they have to get in there and get what they can which stops them from being so choosy. Great answers everyone. Phil |

| old birds when breeding are fed both in a trough and in the boxes twice a day, I did feed three times a day when breeding a couple of years ago but found they didn't feed the ybs as good as feeding twice a day for some reason, I don't know why.....
ybs I feed in trays 1 oz to 1&1/4 per day and remove trays when finished. |
