Just got a hen back from the bad Eastbourne. The thing is its thick fog here and I mean bad.it just goes to show you how brave our birds are..I am pleased she made it back

I think a pigeon saved a lot of seamen when their boat sank in Scotland they let it go in thick fog and it got the message home.

Boosey part of my old stock loft here is from a bloke I new well many years ago etc as such & he was in bomber command & shot down over the English channel in the 2nd world war & it was a pigeon they released in terrible weather at the time in the dark that saved them all, by flying home & sending a rescue boat out to them. After that experience it was instant love & I kid you not & he spent many years racing his pigeons & never lost the love of them till the day he died because of that special pigeon that come into his life by accident.

David he was a man who said very little about that time in his life etc to the common pigeon man, but we had a special close bond fortunately outside of the pigeon sport that drew us together as such.

She has a perch next season because of her second club 14th fed this season,plus she's fantastically well bred of which I will never be able to replace

What great news Ray.

I had one of my few young birds back yesterday after quite a few nights out.  It had a little nick in the skin on it's breast, was hobbling a bit and is thin of course, but it is home, safe and sound.

What wonderful birds we have!  How do they do it????

I trust we will have much better racing this weekend, but somehow, I doubt it, sorry to say.
