if you have a bird you don't like would you dispose of it ?.

I don't know really edgie, I think too many fanciers go too much on looks....if a bird looks nice its a good one in their eyes, they don't really consider how it would race or breed.

if I don't like them they are out as I will never like them

I've got one here, it's done nothing to me , it flies out ok, doesn't bully anything around the loft, but I just can't stand the bird, I've told skywalker, that's got to go, but he likes it , so it'll stay, for now, ( I'll just wait till he's on night shift again lol)

I guess one has to go with one's gut feelings.

I got rid of a bird half way through the season because I didn't like it.  I was always looking for faults in the bird and the slightest thing it did wrong used to get to me.  Where normally, I would just let it go!

It was often late coming in.  One day I had just had enough, it was the last bird to come in once again, so I shot it off the loft roof.

Having said that, normally, I would tend to get rid of a bird only if it did not fit into my system.  It's a bit like a Formula One race team - the whole is MUCH bigger than any single part of that team.

We have to build a TEAM of birds that we like and they like us and work well for us.  We all spend a lot of time, money and trouble on our birds and if one upsets the cart (so to speak) it has to go.

I know some may say, "well it could have been a big winner" - but the chances are, if it does not fit into your system, it probably will not do anything, because, if you are not happy with a particular pigeon, it probably does not like you and its home too much in return and therefore, will not try very hard for you.

Only dislike birds that handle poor weak back if it was in the stock loft and had to keep on looking for the right hen or cock to pair to it then I whould never be happy with it

I had 2 youngens this year always on power lines , so I tried my new 12 bore out it works perfect

I bet you wiped half the area`s electric out at the same time edgie...

sorry david but yes birds that learn bad habits and blatanley do as they like are no good and should be gone .

yes I would imagine they would...once you get them all trapping nicely, all you need is one to sit out and it would encourage others to do the same I would think....after a few times of doing this I would imagine it would be anouying
