My white stray.

Siegel is a well known US pigeon supply house. Emailed them and so far no response. Think the bird is a hen. Anyway, it goes in and out with the others. Does not fly far. The gash under the wing at the shoulder is still open. Did sprinkle penicillin powder on it. When it first came in. No infection. It is dirty, some type of oil on tail and underparts. So. Tomorrow will bring it in the house. My wife will clean the oil off. Then stitch it up if possible. Then a shot 1/4 cc of penicillin. Band number has been posted on a few US sites. No response.Just ticks me off! Same as birds coming back from a race with band cut off. But again, went in another loft a doubtful pigeon. White pigeons are not common in Canada. Some Delbars around in the US. Also Trentons and other old breed whites. Pletnicks ?
US. Florida is going to be hit by a hurricane. Spring Hill area hot bed of US pigeon racing. Many one loft races there. Season just starting for them. I have to assume many lofts will be wiped out. Very many Canadian fliers ship to the one lofters down there. Big money. But looking ahead, many will lose lofts and birds. Same as Texas. So..opportunity for commercial and private fliers to make a buck or two selling birds when the demand arises, which it will. Fill the need.

Got her cleaned up somewhat. Hawk sitting on loft roof. Not sure what kind as it took off fast. Did not have the birds out yet. Will leave them in until hawk is no longer a threat.

I hope so to. It does go in and out. Doubt if any one will contact me now. So it can stay.

Sorry! Missed the grizzle question. It is white with a blue tail. Odd small black feather. Looks better now it is cleaned up. Basically eats all it wants. Has gained weight since it arrived. All are on full feed. They empty the troughs once a day. Still moulting heavy. May split them up this coming weekend.

all whites seem to be in big demand here in the uk, ive notice quite a lot of fanciers like them.

Back in the fifties, guy in Hull used to race them. Strain was Pletnicks (?) I believe. Belgian origin.
