| What is a pure strain? Most of the originators are dead. If one cultivates a group of pigeons over the years, then it should be the owners strain name. For better or worse. Mine originally way back when are descendants from Jules Gallez red jansen. However they came from Tom Mackawecki in Alberta. He imported them. They have had some crosses in to them since then. So I would call them Mackewecki strain. Still mostly red and mealies. Same as Aardens are still showing the characteristics of the originals. Plus others. If you are purchasing birds from a top flier then you can expect some good pigeons, regardless of name. Just my thoughts anyway. PS. Posted before I read your message. |

| My sincere apologies!!!! Shot my mouth off before doing any research! Roland Jannsens is Sprint king, still alive and kicking and has many good testimonials to his birds abilities. Again, apologies. |
